Really high quality horror short. it is very effective in creating suspense. i was on the edge of my seat the entire time watching this. the story of the la mimica is interesting and the short doesn’t even have to show the creature to be as creepy as it was. i really enjoyed this and makes me want to look out for more of the director’s work. As well, ari aster and his terrifying “hereditary” are always an inspiration for me in horror. a funny little bit of inspiration actually comes from “the revenant”, specifically the campfire scene where tom hardy tells the story of his father and how he found god. the look of that scene inspired a lot of the first half of this film.
