Here's a quick diy: 1: disconnect the positive terminal on the battery. (10mm wrench or socket) 2: remove the two bolts holding the alternator in (15mm socket iirc, could be 13mm). 3: remove the wires on the alternator (8mm socket, 13mm socket). 4: drain your coolant (under the driver's foglight, there's a spigot, pull out, turn to the left. I just replaced my thermostat ('99) and it's a relatively easy procedure. the bottom bolt on the housing is a little tricky to get at but i removed the wiring from the alternator for easier access. it took approximately one hour (for a novice). total cost was $30.00 ($15 for the thermostat and gasket and $15 for a gallon of coolant).
