The 4 2 8ba V8 Flathead 220lbs Foot At 2500rpm Edelbrock Heads Correct on head bolt sizes. i reused the oem 8ba headbolts on my 8ba aluminum. offenhauser heads for many years with no problems. they were. 7 16 x 14 with 5 8 head size remember they only get torqued down to about 55 foot pounds. i know, folks say you shouldn't reuse head bolts but, my wallet wasn't big in 1970. They have stepped combustion chambers, use modern plugs (ngk b5 es), hold six more quarts of coolant, and give a real ass of the pants performance boost. mike also provides a reversible relief template for the intake side. have tried offy, edelbrock, mcf and wilson woods; none come close.

Instead get a pair of stock 52 3 eab heads. spend a few $$ doing a cleanup mill of up to .050; they will still clear a .365" lift schneider cam. but always clay, ford chamber size tolerance specs were all over the place. the eab flows better than most aftermarket except for a few big buck offerings. Extensive r&d and modern cad systems give these heads more power potential and greater heat control than any before! works well on stock or modified engines. for 1949 1953 ford 8ba and 8cm mercury v8 engines (24 stud). the original edelbrock design rugged, ribbed internally and externally with a large water capacity cast at the edelbrock foundry in the usa of t 6 tempered a356 aluminum. The centrifical curve currently looks like 5 degrees at 1,500, 8 degrees at 2,000, 15 degrees at 3,000 and full 21 degrees at 4,000. the engine is a .030 over 8ba, isky 3 4 cam, edelbrock heads and a small holley 4 barrel on an offy manifold. 4 degrees initial with vacuum and slow advance to 21 degrees, seems like too much advance.
