My personal opinion would be to play 3 or 5 first. i was not particularly impressed with 4, far too many things i personally found annoying. but that appears to be the nature of the far cry games; they are highly polarizing. one players 'wishlist' of far cry 6 features is often a perfect copy of another players 'things i don't want in far cry 6.

Totally figures, fuck all that futuristic shit it’s far cry! if you liked 4 and 5 you’ll love 3. it’s really similar to 4 but the jungle setting is really pretty exciting. it’s a little dated compared to 5, but the graphics and controls are the exact same as 4. i preferred 3 because of the map, outpost layouts, animals, all that. Far cry instincts is basically a remake of the original far cry game with some cut corners in order to let it debut on the xbox in 2007. issues like texture pop in and long load times definitely. It's a solid game that goes on sale for $10 or less pretty frequently, definitely worth it at that price. i plat'd the game, but it felt pretty grindy by the end. i want the game pretty bad at this point after reading all the comments. on the ps store is $30 which i think is pretty high for a game made in 2016.
