In 2018–19, moma collaborated with google arts & culture lab on a project using machine learning to identify artworks in installation photos. that project has concluded, and works are now being identified by moma staff. october 4, 2014–january 18, 2015. in2297.15. photograph by thomas griesel.

In this conversation, artist robert gober and chief curator ann temkin discuss the exhibition robert gober: the heart is not a metaphor and the accompanying publication. the program will focus on the development of gober’s work, highlighting themes and motifs that emerged in the 1980s and that remain relevant to his practice today. this program is made possible by the anna marie and robert f. Gober, the reserved introvert, has filled moma’s contemporary galleries with subdued acts of weirdness. yet both are duchamp’s children, who find an uncanny spirit in ordinary things. and both.
