If the fluid level is adequate, check the def system for leaks. a leak in the system can cause the fluid level to drop and trigger the warning. look for any visible signs of leaks or wet spots under the vehicle. 3. restart the engine: sometimes the warning may appear due to a temporary glitch or malfunction.
