Opinión Stortregn álbum Finitude Youtube Stortregn have always been a meloblack band with a tech death heart, but finitude is a faster, meaner, and more varied beast than ever. the album is tightly wound and asymmetrical, unlike 2021’s impermanence which counterbalanced the band’s labyrinthine instrumental prowess with nearly cinematic song structures, giving us sweeping epics. Finitude is definitely a very well composed and well executed album with the highlight being the more experimental nuances. if i have one complaint i suppose it'd be that the album predominantly relies on high screams growls and though they are well done they can be pretty tiring if they are the main type of vocal as they are here.

Stortregn Finitude Review Angry Metal Guy Finitude raises the bar for how to be intricate and not be reduced to wankery. never once in the shred did i ever think it was too much–stortregn have proved twice in a row they understand pacing and performance beyond reason. if it weren’t for a gripe with the loudness of the production, i’d be slapping a 10 10 on an album for the first. Stortregn produced my favorite record of 2021. impermanence stands as what most tech death, and even fewer melodic death, metal bands could not achieve—a progressive album without using any of the tropes of the genre, forming instead full songs of smaller themes and motifs. i couldn't tell you what the album was about—the cover art displaying girardi's patented space bunghole lost all. 08. the revelation. after reviewing stortregn ’s previous album impermanence, i had certain hopes concerning where the band would go next. finitude doesn’t really follow in that direction, but regardless it is an exhilarating slab of technical extreme metal. to be honest, i shouldn’t really be surprised. The title track bursts out of the gates with shredding ferocity and flamenco imbued leads, something which litters the entire album with great effect. “a last battle rages on” continues the high octane start to the album, and certainly finitude comes out of the gate far more aggressively than i expected.

Finitude always remains at neck breaking pace so while the album is done with a constant build up wall, collapse wall, build up again dynamic, stortregn are blinding in how quickly everything moves. much of what finitude is constructed of is going to be familiar to tech death followers, yet somehow stortregn take those pieces and make entirely.
