Op Art Cubes In 2024 Art Cube Kids Art Projects Visual Art Lessons Op art cubes. op art (also known as optical art) is a style of art that was developed in the mid 1960's. it combines color and abstract patterns to produce optical illusions. the artists of that time were inspired by modern experiments in abstraction such as cubism, as well as technological advances in computers, television and aerospace. Image: bridget riley, 'descending' 1965. as a change from my usual op art inspired lesson i gave this grade 5 6 class a cube net upon which they had to draw optical illusions on the six sides of the cube. some chose to do each side the same, others did each side differently. they outlined and coloured these in mostly black and white designs. 1. trace the hexagon on the back of the instructions onto a sheet of drawing paper. you may need to use a ruler. se the ruler to connect the opposite corners.
