The crow is cornered and then fights back, much like she does. in this movie nics death meant loss of control. they’re dealing with the loss of control by comparing the following: • grief to the loss of control over their situations (fate): ppd, death of a child, anxiety, their roles in their marriage.

Antichrist is the first movie of lars von trier’s depression trilogy (the other two being melancholia and nymphomaniac), where he explores his own apocalyptic feelings through extensive allegories. his ideas in antichrist are haunting, multifaceted, but somewhat of a scatter shoot. he's mainly questioning the founding narratives of mankind. Danish cinematic insurgent lars von trier always goes too far, yet sometimes he circles back to lucidity. not in antichrist, which just keeps pressing deeper into a conceptual thicket. both hailed.
