How To Change The Antifreeze Step 1 drain. open the antifreeze reservoir cap. place the bucket under the radiator and put on a pair of gloves. this prevents the antifreeze coming in contact with your skin. locate the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator. open it, and allow all the antifreeze to drain into the bucket. Climb under the car and look for a screw that is directly under the reservoir where the coolant goes. make sure you position the bucket directly under this screw. use the phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screw. you don't have to remove it completely. once the coolant begins to dribble out of the hole you can relax until it stops coming out.

How To Change Antifreeze Doityourself Open the drain valve: use your hand, wrench, or a screwdriver to open your drain valve. some models have a drain cock that must be removed first. set it aside so you don’t lose it. let the coolant drain completely: now, it’s time to drain the coolant. all the old coolant will come flowing out into the drain pan. Insert the air tool into the radiator neck or overflow bottle. connect the exhaust hose and compressed air line. route the open end of the tool’s exhaust hose into an empty gallon jug or pail. open the valve and let the vacuum rise until the needle reaches the edge of the red zone on the gauge. step 10.
