Flathead Offy 2×2 Intake The H A M B
Offenhauser 2x2 Flathead Intake The H A M B I just bought an aluminum 2x2 intake manifold for a cadillac 346 flathead. it’ll go on a project i’ve got. $575 including delivery. seems really reasonable to me. sent from my iphone using the h.a.m.b. mobile app. hotbuickrod, mar 20, 2020. share post #1. jet96, lou wells and kiwinus like this. I’m relatively new to flathead v8s even though i did have one in the past. couple questions. will 2 stromberg 81s be enough carb? i’ve never heard of anyone using them on a dual intake on a v8. i wonder if it’s just because they’re more expensive. i have them for a banger project that’s on hold until the 40 is going.
Flathead Offy 2x2 Intake The H A M B Hey, so i'm slowly gathering parts for a 8ba flathead build. trying to figure out all the details etc etc. i purchased an intake manifold from matt's (geardrive speed & custom). it's the 2x2 intake with 2 separate logs. it's basically a 1 inch flat plate with the logs on top. there are no runners underneath, just straight into intake ports of. The “super dual” intakes came out right after the war. a few years later, the triples were the hot ticket. 1946 ‘47 ‘48 were the years that “real” street driven hot rod roadsters were still competitive at the dry lakes. this was the era when the “super duals” were king. Just read the threads about the rare flathead heads. very interesting. how about doing the same with flathead intake manifolds i have a edmunds 2x2 intake marked edmunds racing, with the carbs spaced far apart, and requiring a side mount for the generator. it is for the 49 53 style eng. i have never seen another, but that does not mean it is rare. For sale is one offenhauser 2x2 intake and one offenhauser 4 barrel intake for '49 '53 ford flathead v8 engines. both are for all intensive purposes new intakes; the 2x2 has not been mounted, and the 4 barrel was mounted to run a freshly rebuilt engine, and that was it.

And this intakes make that happen, navarro makes an intake very close to this offy. i use this intake on all year flathead motors. fyi the photo of 560 1075 in the speedway catalog pg 304 is not correct, a correct photo is shown in their latest catalog on pg 305 upper right hand corner and in the jan 2016 street rodder on pg 79 center pic. These intakes perform and perform very well i did find that progressive linkage is better then straight on a mild built flathead if the flathead is a high perfromance built engine it will handle the straight 2x2 with no problems get your ducks in line.
