For a painting competition i joined, the theme is overgrown. i started with just the necron warrior (who had already been painted by me two years ago) and the overgrown approach. it’s supposed to tell the story of a necron warrior who almost reanimated however the technomancer was killed therefore he was stuck in this pose for the rest. 1. undercoat the model black. 2. paint the necron torso and limbs with castellax bronze. top tip: a touch of lahmian medium in your metallics will make them smoother to paint with. 3. paint the torso and limb armour sections with leadbelcher leaving the skeletal pistons and joints as castellax bronze. 4. Step 1: basecoat the armor. start by painting the armor of the necron warriors with runelord brass using a medium sized brush. apply multiple thin coats to ensure an even and rich base color that forms the foundation of their regal appearance. step 2: detail the weapons. using a fine detail brush, meticulously paint the weapons of the necron.
