From texas. the longest v8 ford head stud offered was 91a 6067 at 3.15" to be used wherever a longer stud is req'd. 28 34 4 cylinders have a stud that is 3.5" long and has the same threads as the v8 studs. both of the above can be found at any early ford parts house.
Evans Block Letter Flathead Ford Heads 59a 24 Stud The H A M B Heads marked "59 a" or "59ab" were used on all 90 100 hp (ford & mercury) engines from 1946 through 1948. the 59ab heads were sometimes used on earlier blocks in replacement rebuilds. you can find the ford part numbers (basic 6049 and 6050 number with prefixes and suffixes) in the face of the heads and sometimes on the side edge of the head. There is one more, an oddity that has gotten scarce. the first 24 stud used in 1938 had the 81a a block, quite different from the 81a b block used in '39 and beyond. this one used the short 68 crank, same as used in '36 lb and 37 8 21 studs, and of course had main saddles to match the 68 type mains.

There are a couple of versions of the 21 stud flathead block. the early blocks 32 36 have the water pumps that bolt to the heads. the 37 and into early 38 had the waterpumps in the block like the 24 stud motors. the 36 lb blocks and the later 37 8 21 stud blocks had insert mains while the earlier 21 stud blocks had babbitted mains.
