(mostly driving to work which is 2 hours away) now, have the white to gray smoke at idle. oil level is fine. anti freeze is fine. goes away when driving down road. dealer said injector (s) were bad. A duramax blowing white smoke is a sign of a coolant leak or a faulty fuel injector. white smoke indicates coolant is entering the combustion chamber or that excess fuel is burning. if you own a duramax truck, it’s important to keep an eye on the exhaust smoke level. in most cases, smoke is produced during start up and disappears after.
