World Doula Week 2022 The Doula Foundation This week we are celebrating delaware doulas. doula care improves health outcomes and leads to more satisfying birthing experiences. community based doulas are well suited to reduce racial disparities. doula care reduces overall perinatal spending. A week dedicated to raising awareness, promoting equity, and improving outcomes for black mothers this week, the international doula institute (idi) joins the global community in celebrating black maternal health week (bmhw). this annual event, observed from april 11 17, aims to raise awareness about the disparities in maternal health outcomes for black mothers and advocate. The purpose of world doula week (wdw) is to empower doulas all over the world to improve the physiological, social, emotional, and psychological health of women, newborns and families in birth and in the postpartum period. the world doula week events will take place all over the world during the same week, stating the benefits of the presence. Studies suggest that doula support can reduce serious complications like uterine ruptures and hysterectomies—and lowers the number of maternal deaths. this last point is particularly important for women of color, given that black moms are significantly more likely to die from a pregnancy related condition than white moms are.
