Artstation Alleyway Edit: my first project working with the unreal engine after 7 8 weeks! there's still more to learn and fix, but overall i'm really happy with my experience. hopefully in the future i can continue to edit this environment. as always i'm open to feedback critiques. starting to learn and understand the unreal engine! i'm super excited and it's really interesting how it works. the story behind. This block out also helps me to plan out prop placement correctly and create a flow of how the alleyway will be perceived with the camera renders within unreal engine 5. i was also able to create a background environment block out by using buildings to create an outer street that provides a natural cut off for the alleyway. Base materials used on my alleyway environment diorama scene. these were used with masks and blended in ue4 for the final output for the assets in the scene. a mixture of photo based and procedurally based methods were used within substance designer to create them. This was a big project i took on, based on some science fiction most influential to me. my goal was to create a scene with an interesting composition, that felt grounded and lived in, yet futuristic. during the whole creation process, i recorded and documented all of my progress and have put together an in depth look on how i approached environment design and creation for the gnomon workshop.
