Arrow Failure Weasyl
Arrow Failure Weasyl Since it's almost valentines day, it's time i posted one of my pre drawn holiday pictures. one day, i thought i should play cupid. i threw on a pinned diaper and fake wings and got some arrows i bou…. Obviously this was flawed thinking. normally i only break an arrow if i have a big miss and the arrow impacts the hard wood backdrop. i don't expect any arrow to survive a major impact like that, but i'm wondering what i can do better. (besides aiming of course). i figure i'll cut the remainder of the 350 mayhems down to around 29" to start.
Critical Spell Failure Weasyl The bad, i hit another bull and the arrow setup failed for a second time on the second bull. first my setup: bow: hoyt carbon defiant 70lbs. arrow: 330 spine easton hexx with 50 grain brass inserts and 125 grain qad exodus broadheads. around 16% foc and 425 grain total arrow weight. sight: black gold with three pin. Somewhere around 2002 i choked on an easy 18 yard shot at a big 9 point and hit him in the humerus with a 100gr wasp jackhammer.the arrow snapped off at the insert without a drop of blood on it.i rattled in and killed that same buck about 4 weeks later and he wasn't even limping.three years ago,my son hit a big buck square in the shoulder with. Didn't even use the full 30 mins for this one. was pretty happy with how it turned out. I’m guessing your @ a 27.5” draw length either way that’s what mine is regardless that arrow setup will kill elk but i prefer heavy arrows one year i ran a 525gr setup it never slowed down on impact never found that arrow i didn’t like my pin gaps anything past 60 got pretty dramatic drop wise. after that i switched to a 485gr setup.

The ones that didn't bleed literally just poked a hole in a lung. those deer bedded, bled to death internally drowned couldn't get enough oxygen to the brain from a single functioning lung. elk are tough critters. but brains need oxygen. blood gets oxygen from functioning lungs.
